Hi all,

I am experiencing color-blotches with my NEX-C3 what I suspect to be
caused by the input color profile module. In normal low-ISO well
exposed images these are nearly invisible. However when processing
raws (Sony ARW format) 1600-12800 iso images show color blotches,
particular at the lower intensity values as well as a yellow-green
shift. This occurs with the standard color profile. These blotches are
very difficult to filter away. Non-local noise on color fails.
Bilateral filtering with a large radius on color works, thought the
image suffers for it.

However selecting linear RGB as the input color profile resolves this
issue. Colors looks flatter as a result, however independent of the
white balance and other settings. There are NO color blotches. It
seems that somehow the input color profile seems to create a spatial
variance in the hue. is there a user-solution to this issue or is this
a bug? I suspect the interpolation filter used to estimate the colors
at screen pixel positions from sensor pixels values from the input
color matrix is a bit unstable.

Best,

Gert
