1) The following is on the FAQ page of the Darktable web site.

/*How do I move/rename/... files on my hard disk?*////
//Use your file manager (or the command line). You already know how to do that. We have image editing code to write so we don't spend time to rewrite a file manager./

If one does that, the images do not correspond to the libary.db data base and Dt gets impossibly confused. I think this section of the FAQ is outright wrong. I have used the OS a few times and have learnt the hard way. If file management is not done WITHIN Dt, the synch with library.db is lost. Is my understanding correct?

This part of the web site urgently needs rewriting.

2) I read (http://www.darktable.org/redmine/issues/8507) that file move to a different directory is supported by Dt. Is this correct? If so, from which version has this been supported? (I run 1.0.5)

Kind regards,
Willem Ferguson
