What about to save relative path instead of absolute path? Relative
what? the library.db for example?

I have a recent use case where I share home partition between 2
installation (debian+fedora).

Because sw version are different and to avoid conflicts, I have create
in the same partition 2 home directory (ivan-debian / ivan-fedora) and a
shared directory (ivan-shared).
The I use mount bind to mount ivan-shared content in each home. It
includes for example the directories: Images, Video, Documents.....

Initially I thinked to share darktable library between 2 homes, but it
is not possible because images path are different
(/home/ivan-debian/Images vs /home/ivan-fedora/Images). Using relative
path could solve this "issue".

I don't know if other users have similar cases. If not I will search for
some workaround (script to update sqlite database or similar).

Sorry for the long message :)

Ivan
