That's the solution. It's not darktable, it's not exiv2, it's just that some of my JPGs are messed up. The reason is, that (sometimes) I used the tool Rapid Photo Downloader for downloading the pictures from sdcard. This tool is supposed to copy pictures from sdcard to HD and somehow on this way the lens information (and 1MB) is getting lost. Sorry!
