I was thinking that myself yesterday. My card is NVidia Quadro FX 1700,
which according to
http://www.if-not-true-then-false.com/2013/fedora-18-nvidia-guide/ probably
isn't supported for a n NVidia driver, although it refers to
ftp://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86_64/313.18/README/supportedchips.html
which
implies it IS supported. I tried installing the driver anyway, and gdm
fails to start. So I think it's time to think about an upgrade. Will GIMP
use opengl support too?
