Indeed a bug was fixed in LensFun which prevented *strong*
distortions from being corrected properly.  However, this was 1.5
months ago.  Is your Gimplensfun so new?  If not, I'd be interested
in a sample picture plus the setting you used, and your version
numbers.  Then, I'll investigate.
