You'll see three steps of the removal process.
I wonder whether this issue could be related with the croping; when opening
the removal tool, the image appears in its entirety, whatever cropping has
been previously applied.

I run Fedora, not Ubuntu. So I usually have the last package available from
the updates-testing repo. Currently, it is 1.1.4.
