This is interesting.
I also reported that strange behavior ("current git darkroom filmstrip"
on 2013/03/21) and was surprised, nobody else seemed to have been annoyed...
I will try a fresh config file.

PS: You are right. Renaming the darktablerc file fixed this "switching
back to lighttable" problem - thank you.
PPS: @jo: always did rm -rI build/ and rm -rI /opt/darktable/ before
compiling a fresh git pull
