For instance, I feel that "Exposure" should be put before > "shadows and highlights". Sorry, that's something that will most likely not come. The visible order of the modules is the one in which they are applied to your image, bottom to top. > 2. Spot Removal > For the "add circular shape" spot removal (I'm not sure if the stable > versions have the option between circular shapes and curve shapes; I'm > referring to the nightlies here), it might be a good idea to show the size > of the "brush", and be able to change the size of it before you click on a > spot to remove it. This is the way healing brushes work in most other photo > editing programs, and it's much easier. I am not sure why that would be needed. You can change the size after you specified the source/destination, just hover the mouse over it and scroll with the mouse wheel. If there is a real need I am sure we can implement it though. Maybe a changed mouse cursor (cross, paintbrush, ...) would be good though so that people are aware that clicking on the image doesn't pan. Same when in mask editing mode and the cursor is inside the shape. </memo to myself> > 3. "Solo Mode" > In Lightroom, there's an option to enable "solo mode" where all other > modules close when you open one. You can do this manually in Darktable by > closing modules after you are done with them, but it's slow. This is > especially useful if you are editing on a laptop with limited screen real > estate, or if you wish to use only the favourites tab for editing (this is > especially useful if you can rearrange the modules in the favourites tab to > suit your workflow, so you just work your way from top to bottom) While there is no mode to do that automatically (it wouldn't be hard to do, I just didn't add it since I am not sure where to put such an option) there is something similar which I personally prefer: when you press <shift> while expanding a module, all other modules in the same side panel (and tab in case of darkroom mode) are collapsed. I use that all the time on my tiny laptop screen. Does that help you already? > 4. More of a bug than feature request > Shortcuts for crop and spot removal are broken. For crop and spot removal, > when you assign shortcuts to "show" the modules, it doesn't switch to the > module as it should. When you press the shortcut to show crop, it just > shows the crop overlay, but you are not at the module itself to change > things like aspect ratio, which makes the shortcut a bit dumb to use. > Similarly, shortcuts for spot removal do not bring you to the module > itself, making it useless. Others should comment on that, I never used these shortcuts. Tobias
