Hi there

You might want to check you bios/cmos and see how much memory is allocated for
video. Most integrated video use a portion of you system memory for the video.

Hi,

I have a computer with an Athlon II 245 and 4Gb RAM.
The video is an integrated attachment with a Radeon 4200.

It just works but a bit long in reprocessing the pixelpipe.
I plan to upgrade the computer but, for the moment, I would like to add
a decent video card.

But I'm a bit puzzled...

In this thread:

We can read somewhere that 1Gb+ or better is the choice.

But, in the usermanual, it is told that ATI reports only 512Mb.

Does this means than having more than 512Mb is useless on ATI?
Or is it a difference between "reports" and "uses"?
What is the more important: the GPU power or the internal RAM?

Regards

Jean-Luc
