Hi,
I've just found a very specific bug that's killing me right now. My main
workstation's monitor blew out Wednesday and I've been trying to resume
work on the series pictures I was working on by copying them + the .xmp
sidecar files to my laptop.
When I imported these in Darktable on my Laptop (same version) I noticed
some of the settings were being applied to the wrong files. Upon
investigating this I pinpointed the problem: It seems DarkTable has
issue's differentiating between files such as DSC_7912_1.NEF and
DSC_7912.NEF.
Steps which I took to reproduce this issue:
- I backed up all the .xmp's and removed the pictures from DT's Library
again (on the laptop, the Desktop is completely inaccessible due to
missing monitor and the BIOS trying to boot from the wrong disk (having
just replaced a drive in my mirror))
- Moved all the pictures out of the directory
- Placed only DSC_7912_1.NEF & DSC_7912_1.xmp in the directory & import.
This gives me the expected result: the settings are being applied and
all is well in the world.
- Add DSC_7912.NEF to the folder & import the folder again. This
suddenly gives me 3 images while only 2 exist in the folder. I get the
previously imported one with the proper settings, I get DSC_7912.NEF
without any settings applied to it & I get DSC_7912.NEF again with the
settings applied from DSC_7912_1.xmp.
I've attached the .xmp file in question but since this happens to a
large number of files restarting from scratch isn't really an option
(not to mention time constraints, these should've been done already).
Does anyone have an idea how to solve this?
