I think the OP's suggestion could be extended to the "view focus areas"
feature. Instead of having it as a "press and hold" feature, make it a
toggle feature. Press once to activate, press again to deactivate. So if
you've pressed the button to view in-focus areas, you will immediately see
the in-focus areas of the next image when you switch to it.
So, when rating the images, one could press Alt+1 and Ctrl+Z, and then
browse through all the images and rate them. (Or is there already a way to
do this?)
