Hello, This is related to the thread "Copy settings between modules" and related but focused on UI.
Think "Keep the result of that particular auto-compute result" vs "Recompute auto for each picture" One should ask oneself, when doing copy-paste (or apply style): * you may have applied auto (exposure/white balance/lens correction), be happy with the result and want to apply the same *transformation* for the other picture(s) (say, +0.55EV, or that precise RGB balance, or that fisheye). * you may mean "re-apply auto-settings independently for each new picture" (one will have +0.23EV, one -0.2EV etc). My suggestion on the user interface side would be : * in the "keep one-shot auto result" case, uncheck the "auto" checkbox. * in the "re-apply auto" case, keep the "auto" checkbox checked (This refers to the auto-exposure UI.) What I understood from the previous discussions is that the XMP file format does not obviously offers a way to represent that distinction. In other words, Nikon engineers took into account the two different needs: (1) apply auto once, keep it for next cases, vs. (2) apply auto every time. Hope this helps.
