If you are using DT v1.5 (git master only) then you can:
if the values that are set in lens iop after you press reset (or just switch it on without touching any controls) are fine for you - then just create auto-appliable preset and everything will work exactly as you would expect it to work
otherwise - [for now] you can not.

This will be "fixed" when https://github.com/darktable-org/darktable/pull/536 will be merged.

I've fetched your branch and might try that soon.

It will be even better when there generally is a clear (visually discoverable by someone that comes unaware) indication on how to mean "I want to re-apply auto" or "I want to appy these particular serttings".
