that's a good tip, but not quite the issue I was looking at. 

My impression from lurking in here is that we've often had questions from 
people with calibrated displays doing portraits or similar stuff that the 
colors were not 100% as intended, skin tones too red or something like that. I 
think one would ideally need a chain of calibrated devices (camera - monitor - 
printer) if color accuracy is so important, and the color swatches are a good 
step in that direction, beyond a simple white balance on a grey card or 
something like that.

If you want to generate a colour profile for your screen then I would recommend 
the ColourHug (www.hughski.com). All works on Linux too, so no windows 
dependencies.
