You removed it outside of darktable? This caused the issue.
darktable uses a database to keep track of all opened/imported images.
If you (re)move it later, darktable still keeps the record of the image,
that is what you see in the lighttable view. To fix this, delete the
file from darktable's database by using the delete button, and reimport
it at the proper location, if desired.
