I use ArgyllCMS from the command line.

For your basic "calibrate and profile in one step", using ArgyllCMS is 
easy. See http://argyllcms.com/doc/Scenarios.html. Scroll down to 
Adjusting, calibrating and profiling in one step.

If you want to take complete control over the process, it does get more 
complicated. But it's nice to have complete control available if/when 
you want it.
