I use darktable to process scans of my negatives, I made a video [1] a few
2 years ago with the workflow which
i still use.. Regarding LZW compression, that is a non destructive
compressions (lossless) and shouldn't
affect your result the way it did in your compare. Something definitly got
wrong on the way.
