Hello,
I think compiling Darktable is pretty straightforward. Did you follow these
instructions? http://www.darktable.org/install/ It would be nice to know
what is difficult in compiling Darktable so that the documentation could be
improved.
The instructions are not perfect though: one needs to install some extra
development packages in order to get a binary that supports some image
formats, for example. Unfortunately I did not write down what packages are
required.
