it's not in ubuntu 14.10. there is a backport for 14.04 though:

http://packages.ubuntu.com/trusty-backports/libosmgpsmap-1.0-0

and there is libosmgpsmap2:

http://packages.ubuntu.com/utopic/libosmgpsmap2

which unfortunately is actually only version 0.7.odd (so the 2 probably
means it's twice as good or something), which is not sufficient for
darktable from git (it links against the old gtk2).

we used to ship our own 1.0 linked against gtk2 before we updated our gtk
to v3, now we don't any more.

(i switched to debian sid)
