The data which come with the described tools are not able to identify the color patches, and the XYZ/Lab data will lead to over saturated images. Maybe I've got a more recent version. The X-Rite Website also provides Lab data (for personal/educational use only) for half of their patches. These data sets do not match, and X-Rite data also don't work when used as suggested in the article. I contacted X-Rite for the correct data, but Mr. W. Renner @ X-Rite complained about the free software community reverse-engineering their software such that they explicitly do not wish their products to be used by free software.
