We have iop introspection for that. Well, almost, it obviously describes the 
params and not the gui controls which might not map 1:1 (but should be close 
enough).

I actually wrote something like that once as a testbed for introspection, 
maybe I will finish/polish it and push it to git. Let's see in what state the 
code is.
