Something seems to be seriously wonky with that setup. Could you run it from the terminal and see what the output is? > So I deinstalled 1.6.3 and reinstalled 1.4.2. All of which without any > error message. But DT doesn't open any more. Your database has been upgraded to 1.6, it now doesn't work with 1.4 and there is no simple way to go back. If you don't have a backup before the upgrade you can either get 1.6 to work or reimport your photos into a clean database.
