Hello,

I am trying to understand how local copies work. What I would like to do
is set up a workflow like this:

1. Main image repository is on an external 1TB hard disk which may or may
not be plugged in at the time Darktable runs.
2. When I insert an SD card from my camera, and the external disk is
connected, Darktable should import the images right to the external disk.
3. When I insert the SD card and the disk is NOT connected, Darktable
should import the images into its .cache directory, and then sync-up when
the disk is connected (copying those images to the disk and deleting them
from cache).

I have it halfway working, in that I'm storing images on the external hard
drive. However... when I unmount the drive and disconnect it, and then try
to import images from the SD card, it fails to import. I thought the idea
was that it would import to local cache and then sync that cache up with
the main storage when it's connected. Am I wrong in that assumption?

Thanks!
-JK
