I don't have a good grasp on what is being described in the link. I do
have CUPS installed and the driver for my Epson Artisan 837. I see the
printer listed when I go to localhost:631.
I just upgraded DT to 1.6.4 but I don't see any print option. Is there
a specific module that needs to be installed?
I don't understand "use CUPS to set a printer queue."

You need to use CUPS to set a printer queue for darktable with the
expected parameters (borderless is one of them, the quality needs to
be
adjusted too...). Then use this specific queue to do the print from
darktable.
