Hi,

I am having a bit of trouble with perspective correction. I took photos of
a couple of portraits. At the time the only way I could avoid unwanted
reflections was to take the picture from an angle and I thought, no
problem, I'll fix the perspective later in darktable.

I choose perspective correction=full and set the lines around the edges of
the picture within its frame. For the first picture this means the lines
at their widest at the bottom of the frame and narrowing towards the top.
When I click "ok", though, it looks like darktable is stretching the top of
the picture out to make it as wide as the bottom and leaving the bottom of
the picture exactly as it was. As the sitter's head is towards the top of
the picture this results in a very unnatural looking portrait and it is
also fairly obvious to see the final result has an aspect ration much
closer to square than the original.

If instead I use a picture taken from the side so the correction lines,
when drawn on, are wider at the left narrowing to the right I have the same
problem but in a different direction. Here it seems the right hand side
gets stretched to match the left and the result is a very thin looking
sitter and a picture which is tall and thin.

I then looked to see is there was an option in darktable to scale the
picture in one dimension only to correct this and didn't find it. I could
do it in gimp but as I use darktable for my library management too I'd
rather do this in darktable if I can.

The result I want is that in applying the perspective correction the end of
the frame where the lines are narrower is stretched and the end of the
frame where the lines are wider is compressed in equal measure so the
aspect ration is maintained. Any idea who do do this, please?
