Hello,

Just to mention that, having used darktable for years now I consistently
felt that applying denoising to color or chroma only resulted in images
that appeared to have increased luminance noise. This was not specific
to profiled denoise (similar effect observed with bilateral filtering).
The "non-local means" module has a dedicated luma/chroma sliders which
avoid this effect.

It might be interesting to perform experiments and/or measurements to
see if this effect is real.

Has anyone similarly felt that applying a module to chroma only
increased luma noise ?

Cheers.
