Darktable applies some tags automatically. Two of interest to you are darktable | exported and darktable | changed darktable | exported means the image has been exported at least once. darktable | changed means the image contains changes that have not been exported. Initially, the image will have neither of those tags. Once you open it, the default profile will be applied, and darktable | changed will be applied. Now, if you export it, darktable | exported will be added, and darktable | changed will be removed. If you open it again, and apply some edits, the image will have both darktable | exported (since you have already exported it at some point) and darktable | changed (since there are unexported changes). You can use those tags like any other in your filters.
