My videos are getting a bit old now, but this will give you a decent overview of noise reduction in darktable: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nBzAeM0tpI&list=PLmvlUro_Up1NBX7VK8UUuyWo1B468zEA0&index=3 I'd recommend using two instances of profiled denoise: 1: mode: non-local means, strength: 0.5, blend: uniformly, blend mode: lightness 2. mode: wavelets, strength 0.75, blend uniformly, blend mode: color Then play with the strengths to get it looking the way you want for your image (one instance controls color noise, the other luma noise, so you can play around with the resulting grain to your liking). Normally the only other thing I do after that is tweak some of the demosaic options on particularly noisy images. Alternatively, you can try doing the same thing in the Equalizer using the lower splines. All of this is explained in more detail in that video. > Of course my dream would be to be able to open a RAW file in Darktable which > looks exactly like the > JPEG produced by the camera, and start tweaking from there...
