I have a variation on that question.
Once I established a satisfactory "default" base curve for my camera it
gets auto-magically applied on import. That's fine.

But what if I {beg, buy, borrow} another camera?

I realise that I can undo the automatically applied one and then
manually apply another, but I wonder of there is something that can look
at the exif filed that says what model camera it is and choose an
"appropriate" baseline?

No, wait! If that can be scripted there are additional fields in the
exif saying what lighting setting/white balance, whether flash was used,
colour space, and perhaps other camera- or lens-specific fields. (I can
imagine that, perhaps, sports photography with a telephoto might be
handled differently from microscope/macro but will accept the views of
specialist in those areas).

I realise that some fields may be absent (or empty) for a specific
camera and/or this is more complex than most people need, but the
different between a cellphone, a P&S "carry camera" and a APS-C/DSLR (or
even different vendors!) is going to be quite distinct, never mind the
difference, as this thread seems to have brought out, between different
types of subject.

Has anyone tried addressing/scripting this?
