Thank you, that did the trick! :-)) My experiences just for the records: - Trying to hang out the camera in Finder isn't possible, because it is not there (perhaps because it's a PTP device). - I compiled gphoto2 from MacPorts. Thats quite straightforward (run 'sudo port install gphoto2') Be sure to rename /Library/LaunchAgents/org.freedesktop.dbus-session.plist before compiling. - Make sure the camera is not in standby mode (if so, press the shutter button halfway). - Running 'env LANG=C gphoto2 --port usb: --capture-tethered' revealed that the PTPCamera service claimed the USB device. Running 'killall PTPCamera' *and restarting DT* solved it for me. The last step has to be repeated every time the camera is unplugged and plugged again. Perhaps that 'Scan for devices' button from DT 1.6.x would be helpful to avoid the need for restarting DT. After that and a little moment DT is also able to import images from the camera. - Because LR uses the PTPCamera service that needs to be killed for DT only one of them can access the camera at any time. Thank you all for your help!
