I made a real mess! Is there any way of easily purging all latitude and longitude details of incorrectly geotagged photos?
After applying the gpx track file and making the time offset (as shown in a reference photo of my gps display), I found that my photos were misplaced by a few kilometres. I then adjusted the time offset by a few minutes in an effort to get the photos closer to their actual location. My intent was to do this in a series of trial and error steps until the correct location was locked-in. This ended up making things much worse. It now seems to me that any additional changes to the time offset are applied on top of the previous change. Is this a correct assumption? So, if I had wanted to make increments of 10 minutes, I should have applied an offset of 00:10:00 each time rather than simply changing the “minutes” portion of the original offset. For example, If my original offset was 03:30:21 and I wanted to change it by 10 minutes, it would have been wrong to apply 03:40:21, right? In any case, at present all of the geotagged locations are now nonsensical and well beyond repair. I really don’t want to dump my exp files since I’ve already post processed these photos and thus do not wish to start over. In fact, at this point I’ll be happy to get rid of all geolocation data of these photos. Any suggestions?
