Sounds good, though I think that we should first focus on building the API, with GIS features coming later. We have been internally kicking around the idea of having a way to get data from the Excel files, and other sources, on data.gov.in and other places, and providing real API-based access, and have some thoughts on this. Should we discuss this here, or take it offline. My concern with things like this remains the lack of clear licences for the usage of data from data.gov.in . It would be terrible to build a whole system, and then have the data tap turned off.
