Dear Arun, Taking up your second interrogative first, actually the idea came from one of the threads in the group itself. One query was regarding Bus stops in a particular city. Now imagine the power of crowd sourcing for such a project. Just one person in a city when commuting by any means, within a course of few days can mark KMZ points of bus stops and upload them. That's just one person.
Now coming to the first part of your mail. The very idea for propagating "the idea of crowd sourcing" is to increase that small fraction of persons "who contribute data voluntary" to substantial numbers where it starts to make a difference. And if am not wrong, this is the very idea of making groups like "datameet". Just a thought. Regards.
