Wonderful. Thanks for the tip! I'll have a trawl through the Google T&C's 
and see if I'm breaking any rules. Obviously I don't want to make any money 
out of these files so I'm happy to attribute to Google, no problems there.

The Nagar Nigam here in Udaipur had already agreed to give me a KML of the 
ward boundaries, but for reasons I won't go into here I can't take them up 
on their offer. However, if someone else wanted to request that data that 
would be great! In the meantime the file I've created solves my problems. I 
might put them in the GitHub with a heavy caveat of accuracy and terms and 
conditions that may need to be adhered to.
