Hal, everyone - thanks for your help. The .str file has been cracked and I can now figure out what is wrong. Actually I think it is an incrementing number that seems to have frozen. I can't readily see a reason why that happened - no formulas attached to it - and when I reset it skipping a couple of numbers it seems to work fine. I'm going to have to do some more work on it to see what it might have been but perhaps all we really need is that reset and a big clean.

Hi Hal, Access Data is still around, but in Linden, UT, and a phone number: 801.377.5410 They talk about password cracking for 18 years. http://www.accessdata.com/ Their Forensic Took Kit, which is apparently the only package that include the PassWord Recovery Took Kit, is only $1949.00. I had thought that if it was reasonably priced I might be interested... but I think I will pass on this. I hope your package didn't cost that much - LOL Rich At 05:58 PM 3/12/2007, you wrote: >Don, > >I have some DOS software from Access Data Corp in Orem, UT >(801-224-6970) I purchased years ago.
