Hal, everyone - thanks for your help. The .str file has been cracked and I
can now figure out what is wrong. Actually I think it is an incrementing
number that seems to have frozen. I can't readily see a reason why that
happened - no formulas attached to it - and when I reset it skipping a
couple of numbers it seems to work fine. I'm going to have to do some more
work on it to see what it might have been but perhaps all we really need is
that reset and a big clean.
