It's Ok Don, I finally figured it out...I was using DP23e instead of DP23x,
this made it work.  Also, I had a lot of left over printer codes for bold
and underline in the old report that DPSpool saw as ascii garbage: so it
gave up formatting!

That's interesting about using WP 12 to print things...I do high volume
printing every day and I got a feeling it would take me too long to
configure...I'll keep that in mind though because I still use DOS WP 5.1 and
all my important documents are on that.  Thanks for trying!

On that I can't help you, Jon. I have never in 20 years of use printed
from DP. I always import my reports into WP where I have easy control of
the formatting & printing. An added step, but it makes life much easier
in my opinion. My suggestion re: printer codes is based on the need to
insert a couple of printer codes so the file is recognized in Windows as
a WP 4.2 file.
