Hi Tim,

That's the code I was looking for.

You told me before how to use the relative cursor positioning with image files and it works great. The help file in my version of DPSpool doesn't have anything about DPSpool codes. I guess I need to download a newer version.

Thanks,
Robert Kendall

Look up Cursor Positioning in the DPSpool help file.

Essentially you want something like <251>M1.0;<251> to move the current print position to 1" from the left margin, leaving the vertical position unchanged. If you put this code inside a report variable, you'll need to use the ;;V print modifier to keep DP from messing with the <251> codes.

Hi Tim,

I am printing via DPSpool. Is there a DPSpool code to tab to a specific column?

Hi Robert,

Are you printing via DPSpool or are you printing to the printer directly?

If you're printing through DPSpool, you don't send PCL codes. You use DPSpool codes to accomplish what you want and DPSpool takes care of sending the correct info (PCL codes, etc.) to the printer.

If you're printing directly to the printer, try using a field format of A0A0. The ;;V print modifier really should only apply when creating WP-format files, which isn't the case when printing directly to the printer.

Hi Brian,

I'm would like to put a PCL horizontal positioning command (←&a#C where # = number of columns) in a report variable. It works fine in the report but I need it in a report variable. If I put it in quotes ("←&a6") and print it as A5;;V it justs prints the code on paper (←&a6). Any suggestions?
