Thanks Gary, I really love working with DP. I am hoping to release some commercial software, and doing this sample has been a useful exercise for me to make sure that my libraries are easy to manage and package. The major reason for me packaging up Apache the way I did was that I thought more DP people would be encouraged to try it all out if the installation and configuration was less confronting.
I would not generally handle it all that way, as it makes far more sense to use the Apache installer, and let it set up its own program icons etc, but then people would need to go diving into new areas of configuration and potential areas of mistakes, and the first few times I set it up I must admit to feeling a little daunted. This way someone can install it, play with it, and if they do not find it is for them it is simple to trash it, without leaving too much a footprint on their PC. I will start the tutorial notes in a couple of days. I will perhaps try to make it a weekly tutorial series. Hopefully others will join in with comments and ideas. Very nice, even perfect. Everything went very smoothly and the localhost page looks good. I will check the network next, but just wanted to let you know. This installation shows the professionalism that used to be in the IT. Thanks again- Rating: Excellant _______________________________________________ Dataperf mailing list [email protected] http://lists.dataperfect.nl/mailman/listinfo/dataperf _______________________________________________ Dataperf mailing list [email protected] http://lists.dataperfect.nl/mailman/listinfo/dataperf
