BerichtIs windows server and terminal server the same animal?

We currently run DP on windows NT server 4.0 - This requires a Program called
"Tame" to control the cpu usage of Dos programs - and it works fine.

Over the last 8 mths or so we have been trialing both Windows Server 2003 and
Windows server 2008, with Dataperfect with a view to upgrading our OS.

DP runs fine on 2003 (using the later versions of Tame), but to date we have
not had the same success with 2008. None of the versions of Tame appear to
successfully control CPU usage when running multiple copies of DP. We have
emailed, (Oct/Nov 2009), David Thomas at tame to see if this is the expected
behavior of tame with Server 2008, and if so, whether or not he is planning
any updates to Tame to enable Server 2008 usage.

Inquiries to Tame have received no response so far. Don't know whether Tame is
still actively being developed or not. The web site is www.tamedos.com

It appears server 2003 is where DP is going to hole out on Windows server OS's

Love someone to tell me I'm wrong

Subject: [Dataperf] Does DP2.6x works on a Windows Terminal server 2008 ???

  Hello fellow DP users,

In my Dutch accounting firm we will move to a Windows Terminal Server 2008.

The company installing keeps telling me that DP will absolutely not run on
this.

Any help / suggestions / solutions will be very welcome.

  Thanks in advance
  Met vriendelijke groet,

  Peter Boekestijn
