To Everyone, Thank you all for your concern. Who knows what happened . . . I'm backing up my work to another drive just in case but there's no other evidence of that in other operations. As for the backup concerns, my application is somewhat different that most. My databases update about every other week in their entirety as voter files are adjusted by the counties. In this case I had updated over the weekend. My worst case scenario is that I have to step back to a database three weeks old while the new data is being repaired. By the morning the entire database will be restored.
If it makes you feel any better, the rest of my operating systems are backed up nightly. They do change daily (at least in theory) but the voter databases are static once created.
