Hmm.. In the idea that this might be useful for others....

I've taken a Win 2008 server, which includes Hyper-V. I've setup a number of
virtual machines of Win XP. DP seems to work swimmingly.

The only issue that I've encountered so far, is that I crash when trying to
create a new report. No idea why yet. Could be I exceeded
the number of reports. When this happens all other users will get a network
busy error.

Historically I turn off write cacheing, and opportunistic locking. But it
certainly is acting like the dp file is being held open.
Perusing the Microsoft website, it says that 2008 uses SMB2 (versus everything
else, which uses SMB1 or traditional).
There is supposedly a registry hack to revert to SMB1. While I found it once,
its not to hand.

Anyone have any feedback or ideas on this.

I'm also curious whether or not Dos 6.22 could be used in the Hyper-V virtual
machine. Don't know if I will get around to testing that.
But Dos 6.22 will work in Virtual PC 2007.

For those interested:
On client:
HKLM\system\ccs\svcs\MrXSmb\Parameters\OplocksDisabled=1

On Server
HKLM\system\ccs\svcs\LanmanServer\Parameters\EnableOplocks=0
