Cris et all , Windows network errors are not uncommon. Many possibilities here , from Windows net buffer size from some hardware failure. As it was working before, we know at least that worked. Isn't there any minimal change on the configuration ? even windows updates ? Do you know the size of the files ? What switch/hub/router in use ? There is a small windows registry change that sometimes works with large access files problems:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\currentcontrolset\services\lanmanserver\parameters Set "Size" = 3 Also some explanation on SMB tx buffers : http://blogs.msdn.com/b/openspecification/archive/2009/04/10/smb-maximum-transmit-buffer-size-and-performance-tuning.aspx Remember , SMB is not a robust protocol , TCP is better but to put windows working 100% with tcp is a pain in the neck, try to put NFS to work in WIndows to see what I'm talking about.
