Dear Tim,

Yes, the print job file was left in the DPSpool folder, but each time I just
deleted them.
When we tried the output a second time all passed well.
But I noticed that the user who created the (first) file had interrupted the
output.
So now I circumvented the problem by creating in DP a file not with a .{2} but
with a .{2 extension and at the end of each output it creates a file with a .}2
extension.
A simple basic program (launched every minute) then looks for this .}2
extension and changes for each .}2 file the corresponding .{2 into .{2}, so
launching DPSPOOL who prints it to Pdfdistiller (and deletes the .{2} file).
[Note: when the corresponding pdf file is found the basic program will delete
the .}2].

As soon as I have a new error '5' issue, I will keep the file and send it to
you.

Thanks for your swift reaction!

Danny Meirte

Danny,

When you get the error/crash, is the print job file still left in the DPSpool
folder? And is the DPSpool print job file something you could send to me (i.e.
not sensitive information)?

I'd like to see exactly what DPSpool's trying to process to see if I can track
down the issue.

Oh, and nothing is 'fool-proof'. :)

Dear all,

Recently, I am using DPSpool for sending data from DataPerfect to Pdfdistiller.

Regularly I get the message: Run-time error '5' - Invalid procedure call or
argument.
And DPSpool (running on a server) stops and after closing the message window,
DPSPool disappears.

What can be the cause? I thought DPSpool was made 'fool-proof'.

Thanks for your suggestion. (Maybe Tim Rude has an idea?)

Danny
