Hi Jos.

First, happy New Year to you.
I find, going through some old mail that I never responded to you. My sincere
apologies to you for that. Ironically, your reply to my email got sent to my
dp folder - where I never saw it.

Your method of handling cutting and pasting could be used to give dp a wide
variety of usage. What I was essentially saying was:

Vdos Wrapper {DP} ----> Export File -----> Application Handler.

So, as a simple (ish) example. DP does not have the ability to display
pictures. But all pictures are a file of 1's and 0's. Up to 64K files can
be stored just fine in DP.
So DP has a picture file 64k in size. The user hits a VDOS defined
keycombination that file is passed to another application which is told to
display it as a picture. You've just made a rather huge expansion to
dataperfects capabilites. So huge it really can't be overstated.

Essentially, we are talking about a way to enable dataperfect to communicate
with other applications using a standard methodology. In old days this would
be creating a soap bubble or XML file.

However,
http://www.infoworld.com/article/2613314/application-development/web-services-are-dead----long-live-rest.html
I think makes an excellent point. Things have really come full circle.

The ability to process Http or https transparently via an improved DP:http or
DP:https process handler makes dp's dos background irrelevant.

Sorry for the very long (2 years!) response time

Chris
