As some of you know, I tend to work with larger databases. While VDos and VirtualBox give me some ways of using DP under any OS, they both slow down imports and long reports that post results to a record. I've found that the fastest way to take care of this is to run under 32-Bit Win7 using its DOS capability. An incredible speed difference. However, I've had one problem with that approach that I still haven't solved which is that once these processes are running for a few minutes Windows seems to give up control of the DOS box and no commands hit the DP app even though the report/import continue to run. When finished there is still no way to access the DOS box; the only choice is to exit DOS and re-enter the app. Any ideas on why this might be happening and what I could do to modity the behavior? This does not happen under VDOs or VBox.
