*Role/Title : Sr.Java Developer Location : Greensboro, NC Duration : 2+ Week Contract.* We're looking for a Java guru. Someone, who can teach Powerbuilder developers Java. Typically, candidates with only 5-7 years total experience will not fit this mold. Our client is looking for a Java Coach/ Consultant for a 2 week assignment at their Greensboro, NC location. Expenses will be covered. Primary responsibilities will include: Review of Java projects implemented that are already in place. Review/Audit of code for best practices in Java methods, classes, OO. Second stage will be to facilitate discussion around upcoming Java project(s) from a strategic level as well as detailed technical level to define best approach and provide recommendations around best practices and strategy for implementation of new Internal Web Application using Java. Act as coach/mentor in this stage as well. Requirements SKILLS REQUIRED: Recent consulting experience in several different environments is a must. Extensive knowledge of Java methods, classes, OO concepts. Environmental best practices for implementation of Java using web services. Source code control and continuous integration for fast paced projects. Someone with experience on front end Java development tools such as Eclipse Editor, Ruby on Rails and/or Groovy using Java. These front end dev tools will help the team write cleaner code, be faster. Experienced Java programmer that can coach mentor on writing Java that can be implemented/re-used anywhere - different environments. Desired but not required: Java experience with TDD Test Driven Development would be a major plus Client is about to implement Jasper Reports from Jaspersoft. Jasper would be a nice to have. Agile experience coupled with Java is big plus and preferred if available.
