There was a change made in DSP/BIOS Link (ARM<->DSP transport layer
beneath codec engine) between the DVEVM v1.00 and DVEVM v1.10 release.

Notifying users about this change slipped through the cracks on the
release notes and isn't documented in the getting started guide or the
dvevmupdates website. Not much of a consolation prize but it is
identified in the printed quick start guides shipped in the DVSDK -
that's how I know about it.

Looks like providing info about this on the dvevmupdate site and along
with a release note addenda to help communicate this and other errata
might help.

Regards,

Thom

That fixed it - THANKS! (I moved SW3-4 to the "on" position)

According to the DVEVM docs, this switch controls whether the ARM boots
the DSP or the DSP 'self boots'. Setting this switch to "1" says that
the DSP should 'self boot'.

I suppose the old version of the demos (or the kernel that came with
them) controlled the DSP boot, where the new versions don't anymore?

Did I miss this somewhere in the release notes???

Thanks,

- Paul
