I also let it finishing the installation after changed the radhat-release
file. But have some worry whether it effect anything or could not get full
support from Montavista later.

Andy,
The MV Pro tools do run on Fedora Core 5. But they won't install on it.
To get them to do that you need to temporarily modify the
/etc/redhat-release file to reflect what a Red Hat Linux version would
read. Something like:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS release 4 (Nahant Update 4)
Be advised that though this will work, Montavista may not support the
tools in this environment. But they do work (well for me they do).
