I dont know if this has been mentioned here before, but there is DSP
software, and there is DaVinci Codec DSP software.

With the eval v3.1 tools, you can compile for a generic C64xx DSP
and produce executable code that will load and run on the
DaVinci C64x+ DSP core.

With the SDK for $10k, you're buying a lot more than code generation
tools. From what I can tell, the SDK is targeted at 3rd party
algorithm developers. For system developers who just want DaVinci
because it is an ARM and a DSP in a single IC, and want to write/port
firmware for some custom application, you only need a CodeComposer license.
